Locations of the Char Dham Shrines
The Yamunotri temple sits in a narrow gorge near the source of the Yamuna River in the Uttarkashi district and is dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna. The same district is home to Gangotri, where the Ganga is worshipped at her source.
Kedarnath, in Rudraprayag district, is dedicated to Lord Shiva, while Badrinath houses the sacred Badrinarayan Temple devoted to Lord Vishnu. Together, these four shrines form the Char Dham Yatra, a demanding pilgrimage that tests the body and leaves a lasting mark on the spirit.
