Munnar

The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (COK), about 4 hours by road. It's the airport almost every honeymoon package here is built around. Madurai Airport is closer in distance but has fewer direct flights, so most couples still route through Kochi.

By train, Aluva and Ernakulam Junction are the nearest major stations, both roughly 4 hours out, with hired car or taxi covering the last stretch. There's no train line into Munnar itself; the hill roads are the only way in, and they're scenic rather than gruelling, winding through tea estates for the final hour.

Munnar works almost any time of year, which is rare for a hill station. 

September to March is the classic window: clear skies, temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, and the tea gardens at their greenest after the monsoon. 

December and January are the coldest, dropping close to 5°C at night, so pack for it if you're chasing a cosy honeymoon rather than a chilly one.

April to May is warmer but still pleasant compared to the plains, and it's the quietest season if you'd rather have the viewpoints to yourselves. 

June to August is monsoon: dramatic mist, waterfalls at full flow, and the lowest hotel rates of the year, though some trekking routes close. If Munnar is one stop on a longer Kerala honeymoon, pair a monsoon Munnar with backwaters in Alleppey, where the rain matters far less.
